Regarding that Replicant Wifi Dongle: There is a cheaper option using the right chipset (I ordered one and can thus confirm, although I don’t use it for Replicant: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192126210905
Actually, these AR9271 dongles are quite nice, the ath9k-htc driver (and the free firmware) are working great – I have two, one right now serves as 2.4GHz AP in a self build router.
