In regards to video editors, Olive Video Editor is looking very impressive! https://www.olivevideoeditor.org/
Kdenlive and I think OpenShot, utilize the MLT framework (not entirely sure about OpenShot) and that, apparently is old and quite restricted in what it can do. So these editors will be restricted until they change to something else.
As I understand it, one of the main issues is that they can’t make use of all of your cores or your graphics card properly, but Olive can and so runs much faster and more reliably even though it’s still in beta at the moment!
I think this is worth mentioning for those that are looking for a powerful video editor and to try and drum up some support for Olive.
