Too bad that there is so much cursing. I want to like this podcast, but it is really bothering me and I find it hard to recommend it to others.
As someone who swears a lot in normal conversation, I have to agree with you.
I miss the “Suitable For Work” vibe of Linux Luddites and rather wish that had carried over to this show.
My 2¢
I’m sorry to hear that this bothers you so much, but it’s how we talk in normal casual conversation and this show is supposed to be friends chatting rather than a serious news show. Plus it’s really fucking fun to swear – all the cool kids are doing it.
Honestly you guys just sound like a bunch of piece of shit pricks, mainly Ikey, he has had beef with Elementary before so he does anything to justify his eye sore of a OS.
Wind your neck in, jackass. I didn’t say anything unkind to elementary during that show so perhaps you wanna pull your head out of your arse and see the world for what it is before throwing shit in the wind. Also, what the fuck is a “bunch of piece of shit pricks” ? If you’re gonna insult me that’s fine, but for the love of Christ don’t have the audacity to lower my IQ with your inability to form a sentence while you do it.
Ikey, you really shouldn’t steep to this level. Anyone who has listened to the episode can tell that you’ve been composed and pretty respectful to Daniel and elementary project. Frankly, it was Joe who was quite unfair with his questions, but Daniel did great nevertheless.
You are right, of course, I shouldn’t. Admittedly I was pre-caffeine and pre-smoke, so my cranky filters aren’t operational at that point. I guess the roundabout point I was trying to make is that if you approach any given situation from the standpoint of malcontent with hostile intent, then you’re only going to go down one road. Personally, I’m happy to have constructive arguments/conversations – and I quite enjoy being wrong, it means I get to learn things. But there are ways of doing things.. 😀
Anyway, thanks for being a listener, and let us know if there’s anything different or new you’d like to see (hear) us cover 😀

but consider your position, you run a popular distro (that btw i use) , you’re a public figure at this point, like it or not. I admire what you’ve managed to achieve to this date, but really, sometimes it’s better to just ignore the haters.
How was I unfair with my questions?
like when you said that elementary isn’t a “proper distro”, because it’s not built from scratch?
That’s not quite what I said. To me the mark of a proper independent distro is building and hosting their own packages.
If anything, it felt like Ikey was apologizing for things he might have said in the past or that someone might have inferred from things he had said in the past, like when Joe tried to get him to say something bad about Vala and he went out of his way to say how it wasn’t wrong for Elementary to use it.
Jesse’s first reply reminds me of that professional apology ” I am sorry you feel that way.” AKA – FUCK YOU !!
I use that one anytime knobs have the nerve to question how i do my thing.
